The canteen was manufactured in 1918 by Buckeye Aluminum Company of Wooster, Ohio. The canvas cover was manufactured in 1917 by Powers Co. The cover's reverse is marked with its original owner's identification, an apparent "Lt. Seyr, 102", presumably of the 102nd Cavalry Regiment. There was obviously care and thought put into the creation of this neat little book. I was expecting something along the lines of the "Book of" series from a few years ago, but this has lots of little cool touches that make it stand out. It is a bit pricey, and you can read the whole thing is an hour or less, but it is a book I would love to revisit from time to time and show to friends, so it's worth the cost.
