It is a rather poor design from the start. Here is why. When a 97 06 Wrangler has a body lift, engine swap, transmission swap, riser motor mounts or a high clearance belly pan, the transfer case shifter will bind making it very difficult to engage or disengage the transfer case. Just installed in a 2006 4Runner. Can’t speak to exact filter partials or longevity, but what I can’t say is that it fits very well and looks to be made very well. It actually fits better than the Bosh filters I normally use. Has a nice foam seal around all 4 edges and fits in the tray perfectly. Seem to be a nice option. So if you have a 03-09 4Runner it’s going to work well. Here’s some pictures of this filter (the blue one) next to a Bosh filter I removed. Also a picture with it in the factory tray.
